NGO Day 2013: Internet x Life: a renaissance of youth serviceThe increasing use of computers and Internet access in local communities have made significant impact on peoples’ livelihood, and hence, have induced critical changes and challenges to social service provision locally. For instance, the vast and rapid development of social media and instant messaging applications has totally changed the way of communications, especially to the younger generations. Internet safety and online behaviour have been becoming a concern in our society. Meanwhile, frontline service workers are also facing a serious challenges regarding to Internet ethics and personal integrity when the habitat shifts from real life to cyber world.

In view of these, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and Microsoft Hong Kong are organizing the 9th NGO Day on June 3 at Function Room of Cyberport 3, where organizations from the public, private and social welfare sectors will come together to foster better partnerships, and share new ideas and approaches to cyber youth works with the consideration of latest technologies and traditional values.
